Close to Boulogne-sur-Mer and Hardelot, Samer is a small town famous for its strawberries and its cheese, the 'Vieux Samer'. A starting point for walks much loved by locals, thirty strawberry growers put on the strawberry festival here every June. Architecturally, Samer's church is one of the finest in the area.

By car from Boulogne-sur-Mer in twenty minutes via the N42, or from Hardelot through the countryside.
Samer works well between two coastal stops: the village is small and everything sits around the square.
The questions people ask before coming
What to do in Samer in a morning?
Saint-Martin church, the square with its shops, and the start of a hiking trail. In June, the Strawberry Festival takes over the whole village.
Where to eat in Samer?
There are very few restaurants: it's better to plan lunch in Boulogne-sur-Mer or Hardelot, twenty minutes away, except during the Strawberry Festival weekend.
What is Vieux Samer?
A local cheese named after the village. Along with the strawberry, it's the other speciality to bring back from Samer.
Information about the town
Paired with its neighbour Desvres, Samer is a great spot for a family outing, including visits to educational farms. Walking and cycling routes draw both locals and visiting tourists. For a meal, there are few restaurants in Samer itself, but you'll find very good ones in Tardinghen, Boulogne-sur-Mer or Équihen-Plage, a few kilometres away.
