Top 5 music festivals on the Opal Coast this summer

The Opal Coast is a destination much loved by holidaymakers. Over the summer season, it hosts a number of festivals, to the delight of visitors. While some of these events are bigger than others, they all remain an excellent way to discover the region.

Here are the festivals you really shouldn't miss.

Festival de la Côte d'Opale

Festival de la Côte d'Opale 2022Held every year, the Festival de la Côte d'Opale makes its big comeback from 13 to 24 July 2022. As usual, the region's cult event will put French music centre stage. This year's headliners include: Véronique Sanson, Bigflo et Oli, Feu! Chatterton, Ben Mazue and Julien Doré.

With these big names from the French music scene, the atmosphere promises to be at its peak. This year, the festival has also planned a few smaller-scale concerts in Desvres, Condette, Boulogne, Portel and more. Depending on the day, tickets are sold for between €20 and €35.

Touquet music beach festival

From 26 to 27 August 2022, the Orangerie in la Baie du Touquet-Paris-Plage hosts the Touquet music beach festival. A big new feature this year: the concert times have been extended and now run from 3pm to 3am. For this 5th edition, the organisers based their line-up on feedback from festival-goers.

So the eagerly awaited names include: L'impératrice, Kavinsky, Justice, Breakfot & Irfane, The Avener, Kungs, Parcels, Martin Solveig… A few rising, still-unknown artists will round out this fine line-up. Expect to pay €40 for a day ticket and €70 for a two-day pass.

Rock en Stock

Rock en Stock 2022

Set for 29 to 30 July, the Rock en Stock festival promises to reignite the musical flame of electro-pop-rock fans. With that in mind, the organisers have put together an eclectic line-up designed to meet the audience's expectations. Several stars of the French scene will be taking part: La Femme, Roméo Elvis, Deluxe, Odezenne…

Alongside names like Mokado, Atlas Karma, DJ Lillois and others, some locally renowned artists are also expected. Once again, camping will be available. To attend the Rock en Stock festival, you'll need a ticket, which will cost you €32 on average.

La bonne aventure

La Bonne Aventure Dunkerque

La bonne aventure returns from 25 to 26 June 2022 on Malo-les-Bains beach. On the programme, this Dunkirk festival has lined up some electrifying concerts, sound walks, unlimited DJ sets, secret trails and art installations.

The aim is to offer audiences an exceptional musical experience. Expected artists include: Roméo Elvis, Clara Luciani, The Murder Capital, Gaël Faye, Poupie, Thylacine, Arnaud Rebotini… For the audience's delight, the various concerts will be free and open to all.

Jamaican Docks Day Festival

From 2 to 3 July, the Jamaican Docks Day Festival invites you to discover dub, reggae, rocksteady and ska culture. Set on the Îlot des 4Ecluses, it's the moment to enjoy a unique atmosphere combining live acts, sound systems and entertainment.

The living reggae legends set to fire up the crowd include, among others, Roots Workers Sound System, Dub Judah, Two Tone Club, Max'1 & The Rootsmaker, Rudy Roots, Chalart 58 & Women Soldier, Chalice Sound System. Tickets sell for between €10 and €15.

Besides the various festivals presented above, several other festive events will be held over the summer on the Opal Coast, including Les Malins Plaisirs, Le Grand Bain, le Musica Nigella, le Blues In (A)Out, Les Pianos Folies and more.
