The land behind the coast is wooded — maritime pines planted to hold the dunes, oaks and beeches further inland. That's what lets tree-top adventure exist here, minutes from the sea: you climb in the morning and walk on the sand in the afternoon.
It's the fallback activity when the wind is too strong for sand yachting, and the safe bet for groups: you don't need any skill, just willingness.
How the courses are graded
Like skiing: by colour. Green and blue to get started, red and black for the long zip lines and jumps. A park always states its number of courses and stations — the only figure that lets you compare two offers.
What really decides it isn't age but height, measured with arms raised. That's what turns away the most families at the gate: a six-year-old too short for the safety line won't be allowed up, however keen they are.

What to bring
- Closed shoes, trainers ideally
- Hair tied back and no dangling jewellery
- Clothes that can get dirty, and long sleeves to avoid harness chafing
- Water: you sweat more than you'd think
- A booking, especially in July and August
When to go
April to October for most parks, with reduced hours outside school holidays. Rain doesn't necessarily cancel a session — wet wood isn't a problem, a storm is: a park always closes when there's a lightning risk.
The best slot is late morning on a weekday: groups tend to arrive in the afternoon, and the queue at the first stations forms early in the day.
